Summary
In this scene, the audience begins to hear a loud song being sung by a bunch of drunk people. It soon turns out to be a group of pirates singing wildly, with eerie yellow light leaking out of their ghostly tavern. Just then, up ahead, indian chants are heard as the audience sees a spooky orange indian teepee form with swirling figures flying around a campfire inside; casting ghostly shadows on the inner wall of the teepee.

Special Effects Involved:
Although this scene does not have any major special effects exactly, it is a neat part, especially the indian teepee. The pirate tavern is a log cabin that we built a while back in our woods just for fun. It is about 4 ft. tall and about 8 ft. square, and has large, gaping holed on it's sides where the yellow light can shine through. The pirate tavern is simply achieved by placing a yellow 'bug light' in it and have pirate background music when going past it on the tour. The indians, though, is a little more. It too has a light, except it's light is a 60 watt white bulb. I bought a slow-moving turntable at a yard sale last summer and got it to work. I put this turntable inside the teepee (which is an orange sheet on some 6 ft. long branches in a teepee form) and adjusted the light so that it, when hanging from the top of the teepee (see figure 3) it almost touched it. Then, I cut out ghostly forms out of a long strip of black cardboard and attached it to the outside edge of the turntable. The cardboard occasionally blocks out the light somewhat, and, by it turning around, the light changes and it looks as though there are ghostly indians flying around an ancient campfire!
