I got sound effects from many different places when making the Tour of Terror. Some I made, but most I just mixed in with others. Since the tractor driver driving the Doombuggy does not always go at the same speed every time, I knew I couldn't just have one cassette that I pushed 'PLAY' on once and then walked away. I had a dual-cassette 'boom box' that I had on the back end of the doombuggy. On cassette was for music and sound effects and the other was for narration and sound effects. With this setup, I had an amazing audio design for Hendrickson's Death Scene, where you heard static, him screaming, and the tractor fizzling all at the same time! Some of the sound effects were better than I had expected!
